I had the great opportunity to donate a piece to the 2011 Mayor's Charity Ball that supports four charities in Anchorage. The piece I donated was "Above Limitations". The idea behind the piece connects with the theme from the song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". I wanted to share something that spoke to the need to overlook the obsticals of our direct surroundings. The piece was acquired by Darl Schaaff of Art Source North. I had a great time meeting people who support charities and organizations around Anchorage.
Thank you to all the people supporting me and what I do. With out you it would not be possible to do what I do.

I recently donated a piece to the KAKM Art Showcase Auction for 2011 to support the public tv and radio. I am a huge listener of public radio online, on my phone, on the car radio, and when I am around a tv with public access channels. I donated a piece called "Old Growth" that communicats the importance of growth with in our selves that has a connection with our culture, so in other words our past. I see public access tv and radio as a way to communicate relevant issues to the people. "Old Growth" was auctioned off at $900 and all proceeds went to the radio and tv stations. I will continue to support public access channels and hope you take the time to do so as well. I am planning on supporting other charities and local businesses with my art career. Thanks for the support and interest in my work and recent events. If you have time write a comment on my guest book and or become a member and recieve updates i would appreciate your time.

Ok I have been pretty busy in the last month and a half. I have finished 3 pieces and started another. "Collector" and "Old Growth" I finished during my last time at home from work. I donated "Old Growth" to KAKM channel 7 public TV for an auction to help raise support for that station and public radio. I am pretty happy with piece overall. It has a feel of tradition and wisdom that make the mask intense. I put a little surprise in the tree tops to give the mask a little of a playful side. The other piece, "Collector", is a great example of where I would like my art to be going. I was able to mix material and create an Asymetrical disign that is appealing to the eye and has a balance. I hope to expand on the Asymetry and mixed materials.
I am working on this new piece that will have many new elements to the creation. I have been looking into using more of a diverse collection of material. One idea for a material is wax. I would like to use some wax on this new piece in some areas to create a texture. I will also be toying with coloring the wax to add some depth and dimension to my work. I will be doing some sewing on this piece. I have used textiles before on "Goose" but I will have to do some serious sewing to create some shape and clean lines on this piece.
This next month I will be trying to get this piece done and start another. If I can do that then I will see this month as a success. I have been toying with taking a welding class for expasion of my work materials. In the future I would also like to use glass in a more organic setting. This will be a little more difficult but with some training and practice I think I will be able to create something great.
Thanks for all your support and interst in my work. If you have any questions please email me or comment on the blog. I will be updating more regularly now that I have a streamlined set up.

This is the begining of my blog that will inform you of things I am working on, goals, partnerships, projects, and any other happenings that are taking place in my life. I hope you can stay connected.
My first little moment of happiness is that I have set this site up. I have been wanting to set this thing up for a couple years now and didn't really know what to do. But a couple days ago I just went for it and started the project. I guess it came together when it needed to come together.
If you think there needs to be changes or thing I could add to help keep you connected let me know. I would appreciate the advice. I am always looking to get better at connecting and sharing.
If you are just checking the site out for the first time make sure you connect with me by signing the guestbook, and if you feel like it, becoming a member by creating a profile. I will be sure to let you know of new events and current things that are happening, for example my up and coming event First Friday show for November 5th from 5pm to 10pm or so. Come by Crush and check out my collection of older and newer styles.
I will blog and update this page regularly.
Thanks for checking this space out.
